Alices Restaurant (we serve all kinds of animals)

Nathan Borell of Te Puke, Tauranga, has got a really clean car!

Or he should have after dumping the contents of it in the Poripori Road waterhole carpark on the 3rd February, the Saturday preceeding Waitangi Day 2007.

This reminds me of the song "Alices Restaurant" by Arlo Guthrie? It is a story about a guy who tips a car full of rubbish in a public place. When he gets busted, he tries to deny the fact by saying that somebody put an envelope with his name on it "underneath" the pile of garbage!
What is Nathan Borells excuse?

This is supposed to be clean Green New Zealand! How long is it going to live up to this reputation when we have slobs and losers treating it with such contempt?

But Nathan is not alone in his contempt for his beautiful country! - oh no! - just metres away, some other thoughful person had the same idea!

Let's find a lovely spot in the country, take in all it has to offer, and then crap in it - empty our rubbish all over the place, and spoil it for everybody else - make them clean it up because we are too lazy to take the rubbish home and put it in the rubbish bin.
This disregard for other people is not a new thing however - there is a name for this condition. It is called the tragedy of the commons.
